WORKSHOP January 17 & 24 | Newmarket Ontario
The parenting Reset
Emotion-Focused Tools for Real-Life Parenting Moments
A two-day, in-person experience for the parent or caregiver who finds themselves freezing, shutting down, or feeling overwhelmed when emotions rise at home. This workshop helps you shift from stuck to connected, rebuilding the confidence, clarity, and calm needed to support your loved one in the moments that feel the hardest.
Do you feel
Frozen or overwhelmed when your loved one has big emotions — unsure what to say or do?
Like you’re trying everything (logic, fixing, avoiding)… and nothing seems to work?
Scared you might make things worse, or worried you’re losing your connection with your child?
Burnt out, ashamed of your reactions, and wishing you could show up differently?
Alone in the struggle — longing for a relationship with your loved one that feels safe, close, and connected again?
Then this is the workshop for you
What You
Can Expect
The Parenting Reset is not another lecture-style parenting workshop where you sit, listen, nod politely, and walk away unsure how to apply the information.
This is a two-day, in-person, deeply experiential immersion designed to help you feel the skills in your body, practice them in real time, and leave with a blueprint you can confidently use at home — even in the hardest moments.
Over two Saturdays, you’ll join a small group of parents and caregivers in a cozy, nurturing environment where your fears, stuck points, and hopes are held with care. You’ll learn the core skills of Emotion Coaching, Behaviour Coaching, relationship repair, and how to navigate parenting dynamics with confidence, clarity, and calm.
Together, we’ll slow things down so you can understand what’s happening beneath the surface of your child’s emotions, and beneath your own. You’ll learn how to stay grounded when they’re spiralling, how to hold boundaries with love (not fear or threat), and how to meet your loved one’s inner world in ways that build trust, safety, and lasting change.
This isn’t theory.
This is practice, presence, and transformation.
Through real-time coaching, EFFT demonstrations, guided grounding work, role-play, scripts, and emotional processing support, you will leave not only knowing what to do — but feeling capable of doing it.
By the end, parents often tell us they feel something they haven’t felt in a long time: hope, connection, confidence, and the clear sense of “I’ve got this.”

Meet Your Facilitators
Morgan & Mariana
Together, we’ve spent years walking alongside families who feel overwhelmed, stuck, or scared that they’re losing connection with their child. Between us, we’ve supported hundreds of parents and caregivers across Ontario — not just in private practice, but inside leading hospitals and treatment centres, including SickKids Hospital and Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences.
We are trained directly by Dr. Adele Lafrance, founder of Emotion-Focused Family Therapy (EFFT), and have been teaching these skills for years. This isn’t material we learned from a manual — it’s work we live and breathe, work we’ve watched transform families who thought nothing would.
Morgan Weatherup, MSW, RSW
Morgan is a therapist, educator, and owner of Healing Recovery Centre who has spent nearly a decade helping families who feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or at a loss for what to do next. Her work is grounded in the belief that parents and caregivers are the most powerful healing force in a child’s life — even when things feel messy or fractured, even when you doubt yourself, even when it feels like nothing is working. Morgan specializes in Eating Disorders, Trauma, and Emotion Regulation, with advanced training in Emotion-Focused Family Therapy (EFFT), DBT, trauma-informed practice, somatic work, and psychedelic-assisted therapy. Morgan believes in helping you reconnect to the wisdom you already carry, while giving you the evidence-based tools to feel confident, grounded, and loving — even in the hardest moments.
Mariana Paz-Soldan, MSW, RSW
Mariana is a registered social worker and therapist who specializes in supporting teens, young adults, caregivers, and highly sensitive “super-feelers.” She brings a tender, non-judgmental presence and a gift for helping people understand the patterns beneath their struggles — from perfectionism to emotional overwhelm. Drawing from EFFT, DBT, Narrative Therapy, mindfulness, yoga, and trauma-informed practices, she supports families and individuals with warmth, curiosity, and deep attunement. Mariana believes in the inner wisdom each person carries and helps clients reconnect to that wisdom with compassion and clarity.

FAQ
What if I feel embarrassed or ashamed about how I’ve reacted as a parent?
You’re not alone — almost every parent we meet carries some version of this fear. Parenting touches the most tender parts of us, and when emotions run high, we react from old patterns, exhaustion, or overwhelm. This workshop isn’t about blame. It’s about compassion, repair, and giving you tools that help you show up the way you want to.
Your past doesn’t disqualify you — it’s actually the doorway into deeper connection and healing.
Do I need to share personal stories or details about my family?
No. Sharing is always optional.
This workshop is experiential, but you will never be pressured to disclose anything that feels too personal. You can practice skills using examples we provide, listen, observe, and participate in ways that feel comfortable for you. There is no expectation to “open up” unless you choose to.
What if my co-parent isn’t on board? Can I come alone?
Yes — absolutely.
One caregiver learning these tools can create meaningful change in the entire family system. We see this again and again. You are welcome to attend solo, with a partner, or with any caregiver involved in your loved one’s life. You matter, and your impact matters — even if you’re showing up alone.
Is this workshop only for parents of young kids or teens?
Not at all.
These skills support relationships across the lifespan — whether your loved one is 6, 16, or 36. Emotional coaching, repair work, and co-regulation are just as powerful in adult-parent relationships as they are in childhood. If you long for more connection with your child at any age, this workshop is for you.
Is this workshop appropriate if my child has a formal diagnosis (anxiety, depression, ED, OCD, etc.)?
Yes.
This program was designed for families navigating complex emotional and mental health concerns. We have extensive training and experience supporting families facing these challenges, and the tools we teach come directly from evidence-based approaches used in hospital and treatment settings.
What if I’ve tried everything already? How is this different from other parenting programs?
Most parenting programs teach behaviour management.
This workshop teaches connection-first emotional support, rooted in neuroscience and the healing power of the caregiver-child relationship.
We don’t talk at you — we teach through real-time coaching, practice, demonstrations, and embodiment work so you can actually feel the difference in your body… not just understand it in your mind.
Parents tell us this workshop feels like “the missing piece” they didn’t know they needed.
Is this workshop suitable for neurodivergent families?
Yes — with so much love.
Our approach is rooted in flexibility, nervous-system awareness, and honouring neurodivergent wiring. The skills you’ll learn are adaptable for ADHD, autism, sensory differences, and emotional intensity. We welcome neurodivergent caregivers and neurodivergent loved ones wholeheartedly.
Will I get scripts or tools I can actually use at home?
Yes.
You’ll leave with:
• Practical scripts for emotion coaching and behaviour support
• Tools for de-escalation and co-regulation
• A roadmap for repair conversations
• Techniques for grounding yourself in heated moments
• Step-by-step guidance for navigating big emotions
Everything is designed to translate directly into real-life parenting moments.
How much follow-up support is included after the two days?
We offer a free virtual wrap-up session after the workshop to support integration, answer questions, and help you apply what you learned at home.
There is also an early-bird bonus: a discounted 1:1 session with one of your facilitators for personalized support.
What’s your cancellation policy?
Due to the intimate nature of this workshop and limited spots, all registrations are final. If an unexpected situation arises, please reach out to us directly — we will always do our best to support you while honouring the integrity of the group.
What if I can’t attend both days?
Because this experience builds on itself and includes hands-on practice, attending both days is essential. If you’re unable to commit to both dates, we recommend joining the waitlist for the next cohort so you can receive the full transformation this program is designed to offer.
Is this workshop suitable if my child refuses therapy or treatment?
Yes.
One of the core principles of EFFT is that caregivers can become the agent of change, even when a loved one isn’t ready or willing to engage in treatment.
You can make a meaningful difference — independent of your child’s participation — and we will teach you how.
